A bath ball, also known as a body puff, is a small compressed combination of dry and wet ingredients molded in any of many shapes and then compressed into a very small ball. The body of the ball itself can be filled with anything from gummy bear candies to body lotion, oils, shampoos, conditioners, and more. The bottom of the body ball can be made from a variety of things, including soft towels, sponges, rubber latex gloves, or a soft cloth with a cut-out pattern on it. Most bath balls are safe to use on any type of bath mat surface, but make sure you wash your own body ball and not everyone's body is the same!

Some bath balls have a small insert, which contains a combination of chemicals that cause the body to swell and expand in an effort to eliminate waste products and moisture. These chemicals are typically chlorinated salt or chlorine. Sodium hypochlorite is also added to many bath balls to prevent growth of harmful bacteria and germs. This chemical is extremely poisonous but has a limited affect on humans and pets - exposure to sodium hypochlorite can actually cause death.

Some bath bombs have an additional liquid filler which provides extra interest when trying to soak, such as whipped soap, coffee grounds, glycerine, and more. Bath bombs are particularly popular because they are quite small and easy to carry around in the car or purse, making them convenient and portable. Bath balls can also be purchased pre-filled with whatever scent or flavor you choose and come in all kinds of styles, colors, and materials. Whether you have a tub, a shower, or both, you can enjoy the convenience and fun of having a bath ball by picking up one today.
